Brussels sprouts get a bad rap. Though they are growing in popularity and are a great pairing with a nice thickly cut steak, they have a reputation for being boring, bitter and, let's face it, stinky.
Brussels sprout fans will say that the haters just haven't had them done right, and we are inclined to agree. This recipe is a great introduction to an easy no-fail recipe for brussels sprouts.
Easy bacon brussels sprouts
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour, 45 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients1 pounds brussels sprouts cut in half
1 apple peeled, small dice
1/2 cup bacon small dice
2 tablespoons butter small dice
1/3 cup chicken stock
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions1. In a 6-quart slow cooker add in all the ingredients and mix well. Cook on high for 1.5 hours mixing half way through.
2. Serve!
